The short version. This agreement describes the relationship you have with NAV Desk when you open an account. We give you tools and information. You enter your own numbers, you decide what to do, and you carry out any transaction yourself with the TSP or your own financial institution. We never act on your accounts.
1. This agreement
This User Agreement is between you and the owner and operator of NAV Desk ("NAV Desk", "we", "us"). It applies from the moment you create an account. It works together with the Terms of Use, the Risk Disclosures, the Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability and the Privacy Policy, which are part of this agreement.
2. The relationship between you and NAV Desk
You understand and agree that:
- No brokerage. NAV Desk does not open investment accounts, accept orders, or buy, sell or transfer any investment for you. Any interfund transfer, contribution change, mutual fund window trade or other transaction is something you do yourself, directly with the TSP or your own financial institution.
- No custody. NAV Desk never receives, holds or controls your money or investments. The balances shown in the app are a record of what you entered, or of read-only figures from an account you chose to link, not an account held with us.
- No advice. NAV Desk is not your investment adviser, financial planner, tax adviser or attorney, and no fiduciary relationship is created by your use of the Service. Nothing in the Service is a recommendation made for your personal situation.
- No affiliation. NAV Desk is not connected with the TSP, the FRTIB, your agency or service branch, or any fund company or brokerage.
3. Opening and keeping an account
- You must be at least 18 and must give your real name and a working email address.
- New accounts may be held for approval before first sign-in. Approval is at our discretion.
- Some areas, such as the Advanced tools, are opened only on request and after you accept an additional disclaimer. We may switch that access off at any time.
- Keep your password private. If you turn on Face ID, fingerprint or another device sign-in, you are responsible for who can unlock that device.
- Tell us right away at info@navdesk.net if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
4. The numbers you enter
The Service works from information you provide: balances, holdings, purchase prices, contribution details, retirement assumptions, debts and similar figures. You may type these in, let the app read them from a screenshot you supply and then confirm, or choose to link an account through our account-linking provider, Plaid.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and confirm. Results built on wrong inputs will be wrong.
- Linking an account is optional. If you link one, you sign in inside Plaid's own window, so NAV Desk never sees that password, and NAV Desk receives read-only information such as balances and holdings for the accounts you select. A link cannot be used to move money or place a transaction, and you can remove it at any time.
- NAV Desk does not log in to tsp.gov or to any financial institution itself. What the app shows may differ from your official statements. Your official statements and tsp.gov are always the authority.
- Never enter a password, security answer or full account number for another service into NAV Desk.
5. What the features do
Analysis, scores and rule checks
Rankings, scores, trend labels, stop and exit rule checks, cap and transfer counters, retirement projections and similar outputs are calculations. They apply fixed formulas to the data available at that moment. They are not predictions and not instructions.
The AI Think Tank
The Think Tank is a set of automated AI assistants. Their replies are generated by software, can be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, and may state something with more confidence than it deserves. A Think Tank reply is general information, never personal advice, even when it uses your own figures or is phrased as a suggestion.
Prediction-market odds
Where the Service shows odds from public prediction markets, it shows them as a view of what other people are betting, for context only. They are not forecasts by NAV Desk, and NAV Desk does not offer, arrange or encourage trading in those markets.
Reports and alerts
Reports and push or email alerts are a convenience. They can be delayed, missed or blocked by your device, your network or a third-party delivery service. Do not rely on an alert arriving as your only way of watching a position or a deadline.
6. Your decisions are your own
You alone decide whether, when and how to act on anything you see in the Service, and you accept full responsibility for those decisions and their results, including any loss, fee, tax or missed opportunity. Before acting, check the facts against official sources and consider speaking with a licensed financial, tax or legal professional who knows your circumstances.
You are also responsible for knowing and following the rules that apply to you, including TSP rules on interfund transfers and the mutual fund window, and any ethics or trading rules that apply to your position.
7. Electronic communications
You agree that we may give you agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications electronically: in the app, on this website, by email to the address on your account, or by push notification. Electronic delivery counts as delivery in writing. Keep your email address current. You may withdraw this consent by closing your account.
8. Fees
NAV Desk does not currently charge for the Service. Fees charged by the TSP, a fund company or your own financial institution are between you and them. If we introduce paid features, you will see the terms first and may decline.
9. Closing your account
You may ask us to close your account at any time by writing to info@navdesk.net from the email address on the account. We may close or suspend an account that breaks this agreement or the Terms of Use, that has been inactive for a long period, or if we stop offering the Service. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information afterwards.
10. Changes to this agreement
We may update this agreement. We will post the new version with a new date and, for material changes, tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using your account after the new version takes effect, you accept it. If you do not accept it, stop using the Service and ask us to close your account.
11. Record of your acceptance
When you tick the box at sign-up, we record the date and the version of these documents that you accepted.
